Why people bring
their rackets to Zac

01

He actually plays

Zac's been playing squash his whole life. He knows exactly what a good string job feels like on court — because he plays on his own work.

02

Honest advice

Not sure what tension or string to go for? Tell him how you play and he'll steer you right — not just to the dearest string on the rack.

03

Fair, all-in prices

String and labour in one price, from $45 — or $25 if you bring your own. He won't string a cracked frame without telling you first.

Quick answers

How often should I restring?

A good rule of thumb: restring as many times a year as you play per week. Play twice a week? Restring twice a year. Strings lose their bounce long before they break.

What tension should I ask for?

Most squash rackets play well around 24–28 lbs. Lower tension gives you more power; higher gives more control. If you're not sure, Zac will recommend one for your game.

My racket might be cracked — can it still be strung?

Zac checks every frame before stringing. If it's cracked he'll let you know rather than string it, because stringing a cracked frame can finish it off.

How long does it take?

Usually a couple of days, often quicker. If you've got a tournament coming up, tell Zac and he'll do his best to sort you out in time.
